Hey guys, how have things been going on? FD Thailand was an awesome event! The event was on the 07th and 08th of November 2009. The Thai calander would state 07th & o8th pruetsajikaa 2552. I was there 5 days before the race to ensure that all our tyres and parts arrived in good order.
During practice session, the car felt real funny. We decided to do an alignment and realised that it was way off! My Thai crew and myself suspected that the shipping caused the alignment to run off by quite a fair bit as they have to strap the car down while it was being shipped.
During practice session, one of our friend spun and to avoid hitting him, the only place i could go to was the wall. That broke the lower arm of the car and we were rushing to fix it as qualifying was in an hour!! It was the worst feeling ever! Felt as thou the race ended and there was absolutely nothing we could do to get it ready. Well, as all you guys know, i normally do not have a crew and i do everything myself. But in Thailand, i have lots of friends and they actually volunteered to help me out as my crew, team manager and spotter. Without them, the race would have ended for sure! They managed to fix the car 5 mins before the 2nd qualifying round! I went out and did a conservative line as i needed to qualify! Well it was an ok run and i managed to qualify at 11th position! All of us were really glad that the car worked alright and we qualified! The tandem battle saw a best of 32 format for the first time. I was going against Pan Overdrive. Managed to knock him out and went into the best of 16th. The next driver which i was paired up with was Kiki. He is the “drift god” of Thailand. He was more experience and knocked me out! Well if was a good experience to see the different style of driving (Thai style). Since i got into the best of 16th and qualified 11th, my current standing for the race is 11th position overall.
Well, a big thank you to all my crew and sponsors! Without you guys, nothing would have been possible! Next month is FD Malaysia and i would want to do well and do my sponsors proud, my friends, fans, and also to fly my nation’s flag high! Wish me luck! Khop khun maak!!!!
