FD Malaysia!

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

FD Malaysia was the first time ever that i drove the S13. It may look similar but it’s an all new car as we got a new body shell. The previous car was totally beat up from the crash i had at irwindale. Not only that , Dai crashed it on the rear before and all the crashes are on the right hand side of the vehicle. That made it a banana car…… Since it was a new body with everything rebuilt and new, it needed alot of set-up and also there was some problem with the electrical console. The car would cut off during drift as the power supply to the ecu was slightly faulty. So instead of testing the car and getting it running right, we were fixing the car to get it working the whole week that i was in Malaysia.

It was a real waste of time and i didn’t get more than an hour in total to test the car and set it up. Well i was lucky that Phob and Mi drove all the way down from Bangkok to help me fix the car! They are my team mechanics.

Well come race day, the car worked real well. It was a dream to drive.. just that i was so rusty from not drifting and it’s an all new car and the weather was real bad…. super sunny and hot with lots of grip and all of a sudden it’s soaking wet with no grip at all. Didn’t do too well this race but i’m going to do my best to kick ass during FD Singapore to make up for last year!! This year with a little more practice i’m sure i’ll get real used to the car and since it’s lighter and faster i should do better….see ya guys!

Trucks!!!!

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

I have always like 4×4 vehicles and this is a really nice and clean example!! It is rocking a set of Volks Racing 4×4 rims and the front brakes were Brembo’s taken out of the R34 GTR with a customised bell housing and caliper brackets!!!

Makes you want to own right? Have always like them and wouldn’t mind making it my daily ride rather than my S15 as it feels like i’m driving a track car!!!

How to make a meal more interesting

003

Sometimes a meal is just a meal to fill you up. This makes it interesting and mann it’s sure tasty!

002-2

Feeling hungry right now?

The new weapon of choice!

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Hey guys! The race car is built and on it’s wayback to Singapore! It looks exactly like the old S13 but this is an all new car which was built from the ground up! The old chassis was totally twisted!! The wall at Irwindale was just too hard!!!! Well Gearheinz is the man behind the build. Check out the rollcage and the front tubs! It’s nasty!

005-2

I’m sure youre drooling!!!

007-2

Imagine the time and effort getting all these done!! I know how it’s like as i used to fix race cars! Those who never touch and build one would never understand. As always, saying is always easier than getting it done!!

004

010-2

Check out the tachometer! It s from a GSX-R!!!! Crazy stuff by my crazy mechanic!

011-2

Check out the fuses and all the sockets in this car are quick release! This makes solving a problem with the wiring much easier and faster if any! There you go!! Let’s wait till the car is in and we will test it out and get the setting right!!

Nissan 370Z

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Do you guys remember the promo we did for FD Singapore? Tan Chong loaned us the 370Z as Nissan was the official car sponsor for the event!! The 370Z is actually a real good platform for drifting! Nissan’s are good fun and nearly everything mechanical is interchangeable or could be modified to fit easily! That’s why our new race car that is coming back from the states is a Nissan!!!!! More pics on that but first some pictures of the 370Z drifting.

This car is totally stock! Imagine how much better it’ll be when it’s set up well! Happy drifting guys!!!

Formula Drift Thailand

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Hey guys, how have things been going on? FD Thailand was an awesome event! The event was on the 07th and 08th of November 2009. The Thai calander would state 07th & o8th pruetsajikaa 2552.  I was there 5 days before the race to ensure that all our tyres and parts arrived in good order.

During practice session, the car felt real funny. We decided to do an alignment and realised that it was way off! My Thai crew and myself suspected that the shipping caused the alignment to run off by quite a fair bit as they have to strap the car down while it was being shipped.

During practice session, one of our friend spun and to avoid hitting him, the only place i could go to was the wall. That broke the lower arm of the car and we were rushing to fix it as qualifying was in an hour!! It was the worst feeling ever! Felt as thou the race ended and there was absolutely nothing we could do to get it ready. Well, as all you guys know, i normally do not have a crew and i do everything myself. But in Thailand, i have lots of friends and they actually volunteered to help me out as my crew, team manager and spotter. Without them, the race would have ended for sure! They managed to fix the car 5 mins before the 2nd qualifying round! I went out and did a conservative line as i needed to qualify! Well it was an ok run and i managed to qualify at 11th position! All of us were really glad that the car worked alright and we qualified! The tandem battle saw a best of 32 format for the first time. I was going against Pan Overdrive. Managed to knock him out and went into the best of 16th. The next driver which i was paired up with was Kiki. He is the “drift god” of Thailand. He was more experience and knocked me out! Well if was a good experience to see the different style of driving (Thai style). Since i got into the best of 16th and qualified 11th, my current standing for the race is 11th position overall.

Well, a big thank you to all my crew and sponsors! Without you guys, nothing would have been possible! Next month is FD Malaysia and i would want to do well and do my sponsors proud, my friends, fans, and also to fly my nation’s flag high! Wish me luck! Khop khun maak!!!!
